Each year more than a million people enter the ballot for the London Marathon and most don’t get through. If that’s you, there’s still a way onto the start line!
We have charity places available for the TCS London Marathon, and every mile raised helps us support people across Berkshire and South Oxfordshire rebuilding their lives after brain injury.

Why run for Headway Thames Valley
A brain injury can happen in seconds. A fall, a road accident, a stroke, and change everything that follows. For the person affected, and for the people around them, the road back is often longer and harder than anyone expects.
We support people through that journey by rebuilding skills, confidence and independence, and helping families understand what’s changed and how best to help. None of it happens without funding, and marathon fundraising is one of the biggest single contributions our supporters make each year.
Want to know what that support looks like in practice?
See how a team of local runners got on fundraising for us at the Reading Half Marathon. One of them a Headway Thames Valley client herself, running in thanks for her own recovery.
Fundraisers like this can help us run the Living With Brain Injury Course and rebuild lives like Andy’s, Len’s and Lucy’s.
What you get as part of #TeamHeadway
Every runner on our team gets:
- A Headway running vest
