Headway Thames Valley celebrates Action for Brain Injury Week 2022

Jun 1, 2022

Did you know that over 76% of brain injury survivors experience daily problems as a direct consequence of their brain injury being hidden?

This year Headway Thames Valley celebrated Action for Brain Injury (ABI) Week from the 16th – 22nd of May 2022. Given that brain injury can take many forms, its effects can be varied from physical, emotional, cognitive and behavioural. For many, this leads to their brain injury being a ‘hidden disability’. For ABI week this year, our key messaging focused on the theme of “see the hidden me” to explore and highlight the non-visible impacts of brain injury.

At the centre, we look to create understanding and raise awareness on an often misunderstood and overlooked aspect of brain injury. Alongside the various events we hold at the centre, our clients celebrated ABI Week 2022 with Hats for Headway where they all brought a silly hat to wear on the day.
