What are your new year’s resolutions for 2016?
If you are looking for something that will challenge you and really make a difference to others this year, why not try volunteering with us?
We are looking for enthusiastic people to come in to our day centre in Henley and spend some time with our clients – helping them with personal goals, socialising or accessing the community.
Alternatively you could embark on a challenge and raise funds for us – like Emile Foyster is doing as he takes part in the London Marathon this year.
Emile’s sister, Gisela, suffered a brain injury when she was knocked off her bike in 2015.
“Although Gi’s physical injuries (broken vertebrae, cuts and bruises) seemed the biggest problem for her immediately following the accident, more lasting issues have resulted from a brain injury caused by head trauma as a result of the crash.
“Headway, specifically the Headway Thames Valley branch, have provided valuable care and guidance for Gi in her continuing recovery. In choosing Headway I hope to in part repay some of the people who have been helping Gi and others and bring some attention to one of the lesser known charities. My daughter, Sabine, is volunteering at our local Headway charity shop so it seemed only natural that in raising money by running the London Marathon I should also support this great cause.”
