On Saturday 18th July, 8 friends set off on a bike ride from Wokingham to Paris to raise money for Headway Thames Valley.
On the first day the team – who were supported by two friends in a car, cycled 85 miles to Newhaven, climbing over 4000ft in the process.
After catching a ferry to Dieppe they had a well deserved rest, before tackling 70 miles through rural France to Lalandelle.
On the final day the team covered 75 miles through forests from Lalandelle to Paris.
On their achievement, team member Oli Major said; “After 3 gruelling days we finally made it. If I ever see another hill I’ll be throwing an almighty tantrum.”
Everyone at Headway Thames Valley would like to say a massive thank you to everyone involved in the “Wokingham 2 Paris” cycle. So far their efforts have raised over £6000 for the charity.
